When Raftaar channeled his love for animation into music

It’s no secret that the Delhi-based rapper is a huge fan of cartoons and animation, has even created several animated music videos to his own music. This may explain why the 33-year-old has agreed to create the title track for the upcoming TV anime show ‘Bheem In The City’, which is a sequel to the popular TV series ‘Chhota Bheem’.

“A new look for Chhota Bheem required a new title track reflecting the same essence of what the show is about, but with a modern and fresh twist. It will also connect very well with today’s children as it resonates with the type of music they are exposed to. I like that we kept the same DNA of Chhota Bheem’s very popular title track, but we made it a rap number by giving it a very modern tadka,” he says.

“Kids these days love anything that has repeat value or anything that has a hook. They love a song that gets them up and dancing. I added my signature rap to the original lyrics to create one of the most hatke theme songs for the show. I’m sure the new title track will do just that. I had a blast making this track and I hope to see kids rapping on it! he adds.

Featuring the rhythmic title track from leading rapper Raftaar, the new series, which will start airing from today, will feature Bheem and his friends, who after their memorable exploits in Dholakpur, continue their adventures in the city of Raunak Sheher. Joined by Abhimanyu, Bheem’s passion, the children explore every nook and cranny of the city, while protecting Raunak Sheher from the threat of new villains.

“I guess it’s one of the best ways to entertain kids while instilling good values in them. Indian animation is doing wonders these days and I’m happy to be a part of the Chhota Bheem franchise,” he said.
