The witcher: News related to Netflix The witcher the franchise continues to arrive, now with a first look at its previous film and its release date. After the first trailer for the second season of Netflix The witcher series as part of WitcherCon (or confirmation by CD Projekt RED that the next generation update of The witcher 3 will arrive with the DLCs for the series itself), now it’s time to take a first look at The witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare, the new prequel animated film of the series with Henry Cavill, through a first teaser, also confirming its release date on the platform: August 23.
Vesemir and his origins
So, The witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare will show us the origins of Vesemir, Geralt of Rivia’s mentor, presenting his story long before he met the character played by Henry Cavill in the live-action series and delving into the path of Vesemir himself- even as a wizard, all while trying to rid a realm of the curse caused by a dark creature and deal with the consequences of its past.
The director of The witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare is Kwang II Han (The Boondocks, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge) under the script of Beau DeMayo, one of the writers of the first season of the Netflix series The witcher. The animation is managed by the famous South Korean studio Studio MIR, authors of animation series such as The Legend of Korra, DOTA Dragon’s Blood or the Guardians of the Galaxy from Disney XD.
As for the voice cast, only Vesemir’s voice actor has been confirmed in his original version, which will be directed by Kim Bodnia, although no other actor or actress has transpired for the rest of the characters. The witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare, running for 82 minutes, premieres on Netflix on August 23. We leave you with its brief official description: “The world of The witcher takes on a new dimension in this 2D animated film about the mighty threat to the continent.
