The Faraway Paladin Episode 1 Spoilers
In Episode 1, the fantasy anime is likely going to focus on the early chapters of Kanata Yanagino’s series of light novels. William, who was raised among and by the living dead, will find himself grappling with memories of a life spent in contemporary Japan. The protagonist will be haunted by the idea that he didn’t do anything important at the time and swear not to repeat his mistakes again. Although he lives far from human civilization in the ruins of the dead, William was fortunate to have been raised with love and compassion by the gentle skeletal warrior, Blood; moody wizard, Gud; and gracious mummified priestess, Mary.
However, realizing that he must now live a more fulfilling life to make up for his past mistakes, the protagonist will face a deeper existential crisis. This will mark the start of his quest to understand who he is and live a life without regrets.
