“Star Wars” producer Dave Filoni recently shared an update for the upcoming “Ahsoka” series, which will center on the once-Jedi padawan Ahsoka Tano.
Filoni told Empire magazine that he had an idea for an Ahsoka story for a long time and is now allowed to bring it to light.
- “It’s exciting, I have to tell you,” he said. “It’s something you’ve been imagining doing for a long time. And then it’s quite surprising when you sit there, and now you have to do it.
- “I have thought about this adventure for Ahsoka for a long time, and it’s interesting to see how it has evolved,” he says. “Years ago, I never would have imagined that he would come out of a tree branch that had something to do with a guy (like) Din Djarin, or a kid that looks like Yoda. a great lesson for me in how when you have other creatives like Jon Favreau they can help bring such dimension and depth to what you do.
Ahsoka Tano made her debut in “Star Wars” in Filoni’s animated series “The Clone Wars” as the Padawan learner of Anakin Skywalker. After this series ended, Ahsoka appeared in “Star Wars Rebels”, another animated project by Filoni.
But it wasn’t until “The Mandalorian” that Ahsoka made her live-action debut, with Rosario Dawson in the role. She helped The Mandalorian and Grogu (Baby Yoda) on a mission before leaving them behind in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn (a character from the animated world and, before that, from the lore of the “Star Wars” book).
Disney has finally announced that Ahsoka is going to have its own TV series. The show is expected to take place during the same timeline as “The Mandalorian” according to Disney +.
