Reminiscence Arc sets release date with new trailer

The Irregular at Magic High School has set a release date for its new anime repeating the Reminiscence arc of the original series of light novels! As part of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Tsutomu Sato’s original light novels series, which first launched in Japan, it was announced that after the end of the second season of the anime the Last year, the franchise would return with not only a new spinoff series about Miyuki Shiba, but a new anime repeating the original light novels series from Reminiscence Arc of Tsutomu Sato. Now he’s set a pretty surprising release date!

While The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc was previously billed as a third season of the anime, it will now debut with a new special project premiering December 31 in Japan. It will debut as part of a special New Years celebration and, to celebrate, has released an all-new trailer with the new theme song, “Ripe Aster,” performed by Kairi Yagi. Risako Yoshida returns from the feature film and second season of The Irregular at Magic High School to direct the new season at Eight-Bit alongside Jimmy Stone. Munemasa Nakamoto returns to write the scripts for the new season, Taku Iwasaki returns to compose the music, and Kana Ishida is once again providing character design. The comeback and new additions to the cast include Yuichi Nakamura as Tatsuya Shiba, Saori Hayami as Miyuki Shiba, Kikuko Inoue as Miya Shiba, and Aya Endo as Honami Sakurai. The Arc of Reminiscence actually takes place in Volume 8 of Sato’s original light novels, and Yen Press has cleared the novels for release in English.

They describe the Arc of Reminiscence as such: “Looking at Miyuki and Tatsuya now, it can be hard to imagine them as anything other than loving siblings. But it wasn’t always so … There is At three years old, Miyuki was still uncomfortable with his older brother.The rest of their family treated him no better than a humble servant, even though he was the perfect keeper, watching over Miyuki as she led normal life in college. But what really bothered her was that he showed no emotions or his own thoughts. However, when danger arises on a fateful trip to Okinawa, their relationship as a brother and sister will change forever … ”
