Meghan and Harry to develop new Netflix animated series

LOS ANGELES – Meghan and Prince Harry’s second Netflix project will focus on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl in an animated series.

Archewell Productions of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on Wednesday that the working title “Pearl” would be developed for the streaming service. Meghan created the idea for the family-oriented animated series, which was inspired by a variety of women throughout history.

Meghan will be an executive producer with filmmaker David Furnish, who has worked as a producer on “Rocketman” and “Sherlock Gnomes”.

“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges,” Meghan said in a statement. “I am delighted that Archewell Productions, in partnership with the powerful platform Netflix, and these amazing producers, brings to you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history.”

The couple recently signed an agreement to create content for Netflix and create content podcasts for Spotify. The first project with Netflix will focus on the Invictus Games, which give sick and injured military personnel and veterans the opportunity to participate in sporting competitions.

The couple have disentangled their lives from the British royal family and live in California.
