Tomoro is the first Japanese rapper to reach No. 1 on the Billboard charts for worldwide digital song sales. This feat was for his song “World Money” released in 2021 where he collaborated with New York hip-hop duo Nice & Smooth.

The following single was even bigger as it sang along with Sean Kingston of “Beautiful Girls” fame. It was for a rap-like love ballad titled “Let Me Love You” where Tomoro is seen walking on a Californian beach with a girl with green hair. If the girl looks familiar to Filipino viewers, it’s because it’s none other than Pinay actress Arci Muñoz.

Tomoro said he got to know Arci because she dined at one of his Yakiniku restaurants in Tokyo. His biography lists him as a self-made millionaire who started his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 18 and then he decided to become a rapper. He went to the United States to strike the big blow. It was from his network of music producers that he was introduced to Sean Kingston.

Tomoro revealed that Sean “is a very funny boy, and he’s one of my good friends now.”

The 35-year-old bachelor and go-getter sets his sights on the Philippines to spread the gospel of rap. That’s why his friend, actor Polo Ravales, organized a meet and greet event at the Hive Hotel in Quezon City so Tomoro could get acquainted with the local media and influencers.

In addition to entertainment media, the event was attended by Simon Joseph Javier (@simonsaysvlog), who has over 8 million followers on TikTok; his wife, former Viva Hot Babe Zara Lopez; and the SB NewGen girls who performed a dance number for Tomoro. They also offered to collaborate with the rapper.

He added that setting up a business in the Philippines was one of his plans. “I have a lot of friends here. Moreover, Japan and the Philippines are very close, only four hours away.
