Eva Longoria (Desperate housewives) and Ben Specter (great hotel) will develop a series based on the novel by Carlos Hernandez, Sal and Gabi break the universe, Going through Deadline. The series is the product of an agreement between UnbeliEVAble Entertainment and Disney Branded Television.
Sal and Gabi break the universe takes place around Sal Vidón, a teenager who acquires the ability to retrieve elements from various timelines and universes after interfering with his father’s experience. With the help of his friend Gabi, the two embarked on a quest to find and bring back Sal’s late mother, only to learn that tampering with another universe ends up hurting theirs.
The story is described as a science fiction story that blends into Cuban mythology. The original novel received good reviews when it was released in 2019. Hernandez also won the Pura Belpré Prize for the novel.

A release date for Sal and Gabi break the universe has not been confirmed, nor has a network been confirmed for the series.
