Crunchyroll acquires “Trigun Stampede” | Global Animation Network


Crunchyroll has acquired the new anime series Stampede Trigun from Toho, slated for release in 2023. A revival of the classic anime Trigun, based on the popular action manga series by Yasuhiro Nightow, the show follows Vash the Stampede, a legendary gunfighter and pacifist with a bounty on his head. The series originally launched in 1998, inspiring the 2010 feature film Trigun: Badlands Rumble.

Produced by Orange (Beastars), Stampede Trigun features an all-new cast and crew. Crunchyroll will simultaneously stream the series from Japan to over 200 countries and territories around the world.

More information about the series will be revealed at Anime Expo 2022 during Crunchyroll’s panel on Saturday, July 2 at 8:00 PM PT at the JW Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles. Panelists set to appear on stage include author Yasuhiro Nightow; designer Kouji Tajima; orange growers Kiyotaka Waki ​​and Yoshihiro Watanabe; and Toho producer Katsuhiro Takei. Panelists will discuss the show and share behind-the-scenes insight into its production.

Orange will also host a studio panel on July 3 from the Anime Expo Studio at 4:15 p.m. at the JW Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles. The Japanese animation studio is best known for popular shows Beastars, Godzilla’s singular pointand Land of the Brilliants.
