Bless the Harts season 3 release date: renewed or canceled?

Created by Emily Spivey and Christy Stratton, “Bless the Harts” is an adult animated series on Fox set in the same universe as “King of the Hill”. The series follows a working class family in North Carolina trying to live the American Dream. The family consists of Jenny Hart, her mother Betty and daughter Violet. Wayne is Jenny’s longtime boyfriend, who is also a father figure to Violet. The series is loosely based on the life of Spivey, who grew up in High Point, North Carolina. The family sitcom premiered on September 29, 2019.

The show’s talented writers and impressive voice have raised expectations from critics and viewers alike. But sadly, the series seemed to have missed the mark. Several critics have pointed out that the series will require fresh and strong humor in order to expand its fan base. However, it was praised for its heartwarming quality. Nonetheless, the series has a dedicated fanbase who can’t wait to see if the series will return with a season 3. So here’s everything you need to know!

Bless the Harts season 3 release date: renewed or canceled?

Season 2 of “Bless the Harts” premiered September 27, 2020 on Fox, with the season ending June 20, 2021. The second season consists of 24 episodes, each lasting approximately 22 minutes.

As for the third season, here is what we learned. On April 1, 2021, Fox confirmed that the show’s second season will be the final round. The announcement came while Season 2 was still on the air, and the determining factor seemed to be the unimpressive ratings and low audience figures. While Fox did not appear to have any issues with the show creatively, concerns were raised that it was unable to attract a larger audience. During the 2020-2021 television season, the show is said to have occupied the last position among all Fox series that aired on Sunday night and one of the lowest among all scripted shows on the network. Sources revealed that the series only attracts 1.3 million total viewers each week. The numbers even fell to 56,000 viewers on the same day for one of the episodes of season 2.

Additionally, the decision to unplug the series was also prompted by the fact that the potential new season would not have been ready for a fall 2021 release. Animation programs require a decent amount of time to complete production; therefore, the network had to take the call when planning its fall schedule. According to a 2019 interview, it looked like Emily Spivey was considering the series to run for longer. She explained how much people love a good on-screen story that reflects their lives. Given that the series draws on her lived experiences, she was probably far from short of ideas. Relativity and heat are also part of the show’s magnetic qualities, but they did not have the desired impact on the audience. Thus, it was confirmed that Season 3 of “Bless the Harts” is officially canceled.

Currently, there is no news to suggest that the animated series is being purchased on other networks. However, comments from executive producer Andy Bobrow on social media seemed to reflect some optimism. He said the series is available on multiple streaming services, so if the show gains a decent audience over time, it “could lead to something down the line.” Therefore, fans should not give up hope altogether. The current lineup of animated series on Fox includes hits such as “The Simpsons”, “Family Guy”, “Bob’s Burgers” and “The Great North”. The network has also given the green light for a new series created by Dan Harmon, which is slated for release in 2022. So, overall, fans of anime programming still have plenty of options.
