A new Spider-Man: Year One Kingpin may have been rumored to appear in the MCU animated series, but this update seems to cast doubt on whether the villainous Daredevil will appear in Sony Pictures’ upcoming film. Spiderman 4.
Spider-Man’s next big-screen adventure – set to take off in Phase 5 – should address the clean slate that Tom Holland’s titular hero experienced at the end of Spider-Man: No Coming Home. A past rumor revealed that Spiderman 4 could now revolve around a street-level storyline featuring Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.
The film’s grounded storyline could hint that more street-level characters would appear, such as Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. The actor previously expressed his desire to face Spider-Man in a future MCU project, admitting that he “would be really fun” to see it happen.
Now, it looks like the dream clash between Spider-Man and Kingpin on the big screen will probably have to wait a while.
New Rumors Suggest Kingpin No-Show In Spider-Man 4
The Cosmic Circus has shared new details about Daredevil’s role and Kingpin’s inclusion in Marvel Studios Spider-Man: Year One animated series on Disney+.
The outlet first revealed that Daredevil will have its “hallway scene” in the show reminiscent of his incredible fight scene from the Netflix series. The Marvel hero would use his clubs and cables to take on a group of villains.
The Cosmic Circus then pointed out that Daredevil and Spider-Man would team up to take on Kingpin on the show, with Vincent D’Onofrio returning to voice his Marvel persona. Although the outlet classified this as a rumor, The Cosmic Circus explained that it would make sense for Kingpin to be included due to Daredevil’s appearance.
Since Daredevil and Spider-Man’s team-up is already supposed to happen in Spider-man 4, it’s possible that the two heroes face off against a different villain instead of Kingpin, given that it might seem redundant to have two similar stories in animation and live-action.
In addition, Spiderman 4 is also supposed to be released in July 2024, which seems to be around the same time as Spider-man: first year. As a result, a clash between Daredevil and Spider-Man vs. Kingpin would seem unlikely and feel repetitive for some fans.
However, Spiderman 4The Daredevil storyline is still a rumor at this point, so it’s not yet certain whether Kingpin will appear in Tom Holland’s film or not.
Will Spider-Man end up fighting Kingpin in the MCU?
This latest update on Kingpin’s potential no-show in Spiderman 4 may be disappointing for some fans, but that doesn’t mean it won’t eventually happen in live-action in the MCU.
It is possible that the next Spider Man The film will look to retain the team of Daredevil and Peter Parker as they battle another street-level villain before finally facing off against Kingpin in a future film.
If the next Spider-Man trilogy will revolve around the world at street level, Kingpin would be a logical choice for the big bad to top it all off in. Spider Man 6 with other lower level heroes such as Echo and Daredevil entering the mix.
All the more, Spider-Man: Year One could be used by Marvel Studios as a testing ground for Spider-Man and Daredevil’s hectic clash against Kingpin before adapting it for the big screen.
Either way, it’s safe to assume that at some point Spider-Man will find out about Kingpin’s dirty deeds in New York, which will ultimately lead to their much-talked-about battle.
Spiderman 4 It is rumored to be released on July 12, 2024.
